About The Position

An established multi-specialty ophthalmology group is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join its team at the Dover location. The role supports ophthalmologists and clinical staff in providing patient care, conducting examinations and diagnostic testing, assisting with procedures, and maintaining efficient clinic operations. Local travel is required; mileage is reimbursed when using a personal vehicle. Administering eye drops requires certification.

Ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
Proficiency in data entry and typing.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Certification is required to administer eye drops.

Nice To Haves

Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification.

Responsibilities

Gather comprehensive patient information in coordination with ophthalmologists to support accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
Conduct preliminary examinations, including visual acuity and pupillary response testing.
Perform diagnostic tests such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
Assist ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
Manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms in collaboration with clinical staff.
Administer eye drops when certified to do so.
Perform clinical, administrative, and other assigned tasks that support efficient, high-quality practice operations.
