Extrusion Operator Level 1 (BWD - Team 3)
About The Position
Bonnell Aluminum is seeking an individual to join its Extrusion team as an Operator Level 1. The role involves assisting with and operating extrusion-related machinery, inspecting material according to specified instructions, moving material between value streams, and maintaining required tolerances. The position also calls for encouraging efficient work, defusing conflict, and making good decisions. The schedule is 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday during Week 1 and Wednesday through Saturday during Week 2. The position reports to the Department Manager, with direction from the Team Captain.
Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, or lift heavy loads.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Maintain excellent attendance.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Pass the company background check and drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Bonnell license for operating walkie riders.
Responsibilities
- Assist with and operate machinery, including cut-to-length saws, stretchers, the Ascona Measuring system, and walkie riders.
- Inspect material according to specified instructions using measuring tools such as a tape measure, steel ruler, vernier/dial calipers, and protractors.
- Move material to and from value streams.
- Maintain all specified tolerances according to instructions.
- Encourage others to work efficiently, defuse conflict, and make good decisions.
