About The Position

The Extrusion Operator operates and maintains a Fiber Extrusion Line, setting up, operating, and monitoring the line to ensure finished products meet quality, size, and appearance requirements. The role requires working in a fast-paced environment, performing multiple tasks with attention to detail, and following detailed processes. This is an on-site, full-time, temp-to-hire position in East Syracuse, New York. The rotating schedule alternates 5 a.m.–5 p.m. and 5 p.m.–5 a.m. shifts across two-week patterns, with workdays varying between Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday or Wednesday through Friday. Pay is based on experience, up to $21 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to follow and execute detailed processes and directions.
• Mathematical skills, computer skills, mechanical ability, and knowledge of machine operation.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment in a culturally diverse workplace.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

• Manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the Fiber Extrusion Line during operation and identify and correct improper or unusual conditions, faulty equipment, and defective materials.
• Report conditions that cannot be corrected to a supervisor or technician.
• Clean process tooling and related fiber extrusion equipment according to established procedures.
• Maintain documentation of process conditions, run-time conditions, and variations from process sheets.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and maintain a clean environment to prevent contamination.
• Perform first-piece and in-process quality inspections using appropriate gauging equipment as directed.
• Report material or machine defects and major problems to the Section Leader or Supervisor.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Line Leader, Section Leader, or Supervisor.
• Comply with all company rules and regulations.
