About The Position

Darnel Group is seeking a bilingual English/Spanish Operations Trainer to enhance team member skills, optimize production outcomes, and contribute to operational excellence. The role leads the definition and documentation of training programs and standard operating procedures that build workforce proficiency. It provides training across manufacturing duties while supporting workplace safety, and works with operations managers, area managers, supervisors, operators, and other team members to improve departmental capabilities.

The trainer identifies training needs and objectives, develops curricula and materials, schedules and conducts training, and keeps programs relevant to industry practices and advancements. The position evaluates trainee progress through written and hands-on assessments, maintains training and assessment records, and works with shift supervisors to plan training and certification for new hires, annual retraining for current staff, and cross-training for eligible employees. The role also cooperates with quality personnel and shift management to support production capabilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish; able to speak, read, write, and transcribe in both languages.
• Training and development experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Two or more years of work in a manufacturing production environment.
• One to two years in a supervisory or training role.
• Knowledge of and/or aptitude for operating Thermoforming and Extrusion machines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to instruct and lead others.
• Interpersonal skills, training and instructional design, evaluation and assessment, technical proficiency, and training and development skills.
• Demonstrated excellent attendance.
• Excel/Microsoft Office experience and computer literacy.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic math skills for inventory calculations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external sources.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Thermoforming and/or Extrusion.
• Training and Development certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide training for a wide array of manufacturing duties while assisting in ensuring workplace safety.
• Work with operations managers, area managers/supervisors, and team members to improve the long-term capabilities of departments.
• Identify training needs and objectives, develop curricula and materials, and schedule and conduct training sessions.
• Collaborate with relevant sources to determine training needs and industry best practices, and stay informed of industry trends and advancements.
• Foster a positive learning culture and ensure training programs align with strategic goals and compliance standards.
• Conduct written and hands-on trainee evaluations and review progress with the trainee’s supervisor.
• Maintain spreadsheets or databases to track training and assessments.
• Work with shift supervisors and shift matrices to plan training, ensuring new hires are trained and certified upon hire, current staff are retrained annually, and eligible staff are cross-trained to address staffing gaps.
• Work cooperatively with operators, quality personnel, and the shift management team to achieve maximum production capabilities.
