About The Position

This is a student employment opportunity for an Operations Support Intern within the Office of Community Engagement at Masonicare. The role is designed for individuals interested in healthcare administration, public health, data analytics, or operations. The intern will assist with non-clinical audits of electronic medical record documentation, focusing on completeness, consistency, and administrative requirements. This position requires a strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn an EMR system. Confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive information are paramount. The intern will work up to 6 hours per week during standard business hours (9 am - 5 pm, Monday-Friday).

Requirements

  • Interest in healthcare administration, public health, data analytics, or operations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; comfort learning an EMR system.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work accurately with sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with approved, non-clinical audits of electronic medical record documentation using established checklists.
  • Review records for completeness, consistency, and required administrative elements under staff supervision.
  • Enter audit results into tracking tools and help identify recurring documentation trends.
  • Prepare basic summaries, reports, and follow-up lists for operational review.
  • Organize audit files and maintain accurate, secure documentation.
  • Support workflow-improvement and other operations projects as assigned.
  • Follow HIPAA, privacy, security, and confidentiality requirements at all times.
