About The Position

This is a Student Employment position for a Memory Care Support Intern within the Office of Community Engagement at Masonicare. The role is designed for individuals with Federal Work-Study eligibility and offers a flexible schedule arranged with a supervisor to accommodate class schedules. The intern will assist staff in preparing and executing memory care activities, engaging residents, organizing materials, and supporting various programs and events. A key aspect of the role involves observing resident needs and ensuring a safe, welcoming, and confidential environment, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Interest in aging services, memory care, recreation, social work, psychology, or healthcare.
  • Patient, compassionate, dependable, and comfortable interacting with older adults.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow staff direction, maintain boundaries, and protect resident confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist staff with preparing and setting up approved memory-care activities and programs.
  • Engage residents in conversation and supervised recreational, social, or creative activities.
  • Help organize activity materials, supplies, calendars, and participation records.
  • Support seasonal events, small-group programs, and resident-centered initiatives.
  • Observe resident needs and promptly refer questions or concerns to an appropriate staff member.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and welcoming program spaces.
  • Follow infection-prevention, resident-rights, privacy, safety, and confidentiality requirements.
