About The Position

CookUnity is seeking an Operations Manager II to provide a best-in-class experience to their eaters and chefs. This role involves running the daily operations of the entire New York market, driving improvement measures, and developing operational strategy. The Operations Manager will elevate standards, streamline processes, and provide efficient guidelines to the Kitchen, Warehouse, Food Safety, Fulfillment, and Logistics departments, with a focus on scalability and cost-efficiency. Success will be measured by customer satisfaction and operational profitability, by identifying key opportunities and spearheading projects for business growth. CookUnity was founded in 2018 with the mission to empower chefs to nourish the world by connecting people with great food crafted by chefs. They deliver millions of meals a year nationwide, offering fresh, ready-to-eat meals made with passion.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish Fluency)
  • Experience in cold storage (preferred), operations, logistics, or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in relevant tools and software (e.g., operational dashboards, reporting tools).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor real-time operations to ensure adherence to SOPs.
  • Address and resolve operational issues promptly to avoid operational disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with KPIs (Sealed Meals Per Hour, Labor, Food Safety Compliance).
  • Act as the first escalation point for on-ground teams.
  • Labor Management / Scheduling of associates / ensuring they are briefed and aligned on daily objectives.
  • Supervise and support team members during operational hours, and coordinate effective shift handovers.
  • Ensure optimal staffing during peak and off-peak hours.
  • Identify and report any resource gaps to senior management.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics during shifts.
  • Prepare end-of-shift reports summarizing activities, issues, and resolutions.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and propose solutions.
  • Maintain clear communication with cross-functional teams, including IT, Customer Support, and Quality Assurance.
  • Relay updates and changes in processes to team members promptly.
