Operations Helper - Utility Crew
About The Position
The Operations Helper supports operations and/or maintenance in mine and processing areas in an industrial setting at Freeport-McMoRan's Morenci operation. The role includes housekeeping and manual work, operating processing or mobile equipment and hand or power tools, handling materials, and maintaining equipment and facilities. Additional responsibilities may be assigned according to business needs. No prior work experience is required. Candidates must demonstrate the required aptitude and competencies, communicate in English about job assignments, procedures, and applicable safety standards, and pass required training, testing, and any applicable written assessment. A medical exam may also be required. Employees may be assigned a non-standard schedule, including shift work at a 24/7 operation.
Requirements
- No work experience is required.
- Complete required academic and practical competencies, including Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where applicable, and demonstrate the required aptitude.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills and pass a written assessment where required; the assessment may cover skills, abilities, academic knowledge, and safety.
- Communicate in English regarding job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
- Pass all required training and/or testing.
- May be required to pass a medical exam.
- May be required to work a non-standard schedule, including shifts other than day shift, at a 24/7, 365-day operation.
- Pass mandatory pre-employment drug testing and ongoing drug and alcohol testing, as allowed by applicable laws.
