About The Position

The Utility Worker assists a repair person as needed, complementing repair work and developing skills required for a repair mechanic. Duties include operating a forklift; moving trailers in and out of bays; undercoating, painting, applying decals, washing trailers and dollies, sandblasting, and sanding and preparing units for paint. The role also involves emptying shop metal containers, unloading supplies and equipment, and making small repairs to trailers, power equipment, and the building.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

Responsibilities

• Work with the repair person as needed to complement repair work.
• Operate a forklift.
• Shuttle trailers in and out of bays.
• Undercoat and paint equipment.
• Apply decals.
• Wash trailers and dollies.
• Sandblast.
• Sand and prepare units for paint.
• Empty shop metal containers.
• Unload supplies and equipment.
• Make small repairs to trailers, power equipment, and the building.
• Work with a repair person and/or supervisor to develop skills required for a repair mechanic.
