About The Position

The Skatium Ice Rink of Haverford Township is seeking a full-time Operations Associate to provide general operational support to management and customer service to patrons. The role supports day-to-day operations at an indoor ice skating facility, helping provide a safe and enjoyable skating experience for patrons and user groups. The position requires availability for all shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Availability to work all shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license that the employee must possess and maintain to operate the Zamboni.
• Strong customer service skills and comfort working with the public.
• Professional appearance, attitude, and work products.
• Ability to work at a fast pace with little supervision.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage self-directed and frequently changing priorities, and work efficiently and in an organized manner with a strong work ethic and initiative.
• Strong attention to detail, procedures, and safety protocol.
• Ability to successfully pass drug/alcohol screenings, criminal history screenings, and child abuse background screening.
• Ability to operate a Zamboni with or without an accommodation.
• Ability to work in a colder-than-normal environment for a shift of at least eight hours, with or without accommodations.
• Ability to frequently bend, kneel, reach, squat, and lift throughout a shift.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to occasionally walk, climb stairs, use hands to operate, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in general ice skating skills and ability; preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Zamboni and related equipment at scheduled times to maintain the ice surface; training will be provided.
• Perform cleaning and custodial functions during facility operations as needed.
• Provide customer service to user groups and patrons.
• Assist with opening and closing the Point of Service cash register as needed, following the cash handling policy.
• Open and close the facility as scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or designee.
