About The Position

The Operations Associate creates an outstanding customer experience by performing store operations functions. This is an early morning role, working with a team to complete tasks before the store opens. Responsibilities include helping customers, updating merchandise pricing and signage, replenishing and restocking the sales floor, receiving and unloading merchandise, maintaining safe and organized backroom standards, supporting omnichannel orders and returns, and executing merchandise placement plans. The associate learns and applies information about merchandise, shrink, safety, productivity, and other business processes.

The role calls for a results-oriented, accountable, and proactive approach: making sound decisions that support sales, profit, and customer service; building positive and inclusive relationships; taking responsibility for outcomes; and acting with energy and urgency to improve the customer experience.

The listed pay range is USD $15.00 to $18.75 per hour. JCPenney reports a worldwide workforce of 50,000 associates.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and assistance while working throughout the store.
• Execute pricing and signing changes on merchandise across the store.
• Replenish and restock merchandise by pulling and preparing products for the sales floor.
• Work with co-workers to unload trucks and prepare merchandise in the backroom.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized stockroom.
• Contribute to omnichannel operations, including Buy Online Pickup in Store, Ship from Store, Order Delivery and Returns, shipping online orders, and merchandise receiving.
• Execute merchandise placement plans communicated by leadership and maintain merchandising standards as goods flow to the sales floor.
• Learn and apply information from peers and training materials about merchandise, shrink, safety, productivity, and other business processes.
• Solve problems and make decisions that support sales, profit, or customer service; work efficiently and effectively.
• Provide great customer service, build positive and inclusive relationships, and take accountability for actions and outcomes.
• Proactively identify ways to improve the customer experience and take appropriate action with energy and urgency.
