About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform a variety of cleaning activities at the assigned facility, maintaining clean, sanitary, and orderly conditions and completing other related tasks. The work includes cleaning rooms, restrooms, floors, public common areas, food court spaces, and outdoor grounds. The cleaner is also expected to provide courteous customer service, follow safe cleaning practices, inspect completed work, and report issues to a supervisor. Additional duties may include floor care such as stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor scrubbing and buffing.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial work, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices.
Knowledge of using toxic and non-toxic chemicals in accordance with MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including chemical warning labels.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to maintain the physical condition needed to perform the assigned duties, including extended walking, standing, or sitting; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and overhead reaching.
Ability to use sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination to perform cleaning tasks and operate equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

High dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, ledges, and window areas.
Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and spot-clean fingerprints, smudges, and windows.
Clean restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and dispensers; refill soap and paper supplies as needed.
Empty trash cans, wipe them when necessary, and replace liners.
Dust mop or vacuum floors, including beneath furniture, and sanitize floors as assigned.
Clean outdoor areas by emptying ash urns and trash cans, policing sidewalks, flower beds, curbs, and parking lots, spot-cleaning spills, removing gum, and wiping benches, vending machines, and window ledges.
Maintain public common areas, including hallways, glass, planters, and window areas; check for dirt and cobwebs.
Clean food court tables, sanitize surfaces, return chairs to their places, empty trash, transport and wash trays, and police outdoor eating areas.
Inspect completed rooms, review cleaning steps, check furniture placement, and make corrections as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Knock before entering an occupied room, assist or direct customers courteously, work quietly, remain in the assigned area unless directed otherwise, and maintain a neat personal appearance.
Report broken or out-of-order items and incomplete assignments to a supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned, which may include stripping and waxing floors, carpet extraction and bonneting, and auto-scrubbing and buffing floors.
