About The Position
Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family of businesses, is hiring an experienced perioperative Operating Room Registered Nurse. The RN is proficient across at least five surgical service lines and demonstrates adaptability and competency in a multidisciplinary surgical environment. The role provides high-quality, age-specific patient care and develops effective working relationships with members of the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) and Clinic. The RN communicates information about patient conditions effectively, appropriately, and courteously to physicians, anesthesia professionals, leadership, staff, patients, families, and visitors. The position performs safe and competent operative nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, AORN standards, and ASPAN standards. The position is part-time at the Main Campus in Houston.
Requirements
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher.
- Active Texas RN license or compact license.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
- At least 2 years of RN experience in an operating room.
- RN experience in an ASC or hospital setting.
- ASC or hospital experience; multi-site or float experience.
- Proficiency in delivering high-quality, age-specific patient care.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
Responsibilities
- Communicate information about patient conditions effectively, appropriately, and courteously to physicians, anesthesia professionals, management, staff, patients, families, and visitors.
- Perform safe and competent operative nursing care according to organizational policies and procedures.
- Provide operating room nursing care according to organizational policies and procedures and applicable AORN and/or ASPAN standards.
- Deliver high-quality, age-specific patient care.
- Develop effective working relationships with members of the ASC and Clinic.
