About The Position
A Senior Facility Coder/Biller reviews medical records, assigns accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, and ensures timely, compliant claim submission for facility services. The role serves as a subject matter expert by resolving complex coding issues, managing denial follow-up, and supporting reimbursement optimization. It also assists with overseeing work queues, monitoring productivity and quality standards, and guiding and mentoring team members. As needed, the position backs up the Coding/Billing Manager by supporting departmental operations, workflow management, reporting, and staff oversight.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC-A or CPC).
- Proficient knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- At least 5 years of facility coding and billing experience, including claim follow-up and denial management.
- Experience with EMR, EHR, billing systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of facility billing processes, claim submission, denial management, and accounts receivable follow-up.
