About The Position

The Anesthesia Tech assists anesthesia providers and the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) team with acquiring, preparing, and applying equipment and supplies needed to administer anesthesia and blocks. The role supports anesthesia care by preparing, setting up, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining patient-monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during, and after anesthesia. It also assists with patient transport and positioning, resuscitative efforts, cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of work areas and equipment, and supply and inventory management.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED from an accredited program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• At least 2 years of experience working as an anesthesia technician.
• Proficiency in operating and decontaminating anesthesia equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an anesthesia technician training program approved by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT).
• Certified Anesthesia Technician.
• At least 2 years of experience working as an anesthesia technician.
• Microsoft Word proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Acquire, prepare, and apply equipment and supplies required for administering anesthesia and blocks.
• Prepare, set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain patient-monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during, and after anesthesia.
• Assist with transporting and positioning patients and with resuscitative efforts.
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize work areas and equipment.
• Manage supplies and inventory.
