About The Position

The One-on-One Assistant is assigned to provide support for a child who requires assistance throughout the day. The One-on-One assistant is a non-certificated staff member who assists students under the direction of the classroom teachers and/or certified staff to promote the student’s academic achievement, behavioral growth, socio-emotional relationships, and personal development. The One-on-One Assistant must adapt to the particular educational/therapeutic needs of the student(s).

Requirements

• Must be a non-certificated staff member.
• Must demonstrate physical strength, agility, and energy to perform essential job functions and to ensure health, welfare, and safety of all students and of self.
• Must be able to perform the following physical demands: sitting, standing, reaching, walking, lifting, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, finger dexterity, carrying, repetitive motions, speaking, listening, and visual acuity.
• Must lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Required criminal history background check.
• Proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Must be NJ resident within one year from date of hire.
