About The Position

The Joseph F. Cappello School is seeking Teachers for the ESY 2026 program. This position requires providing instruction, managing the classroom environment, and promoting student learning. The program runs from July 2, 2026, for staff, with student instruction from July 6 to August 7, 2026.

Requirements

• Teacher's certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Education including TOH or TOSD.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Must be NJ resident within one year from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff.
• Ensures adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
• Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Reports to the office upon arrival at school; requests clarification of school rules and procedures, if necessary.
• Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority.
• Implement lesson plans and write progress reports.
• Dismiss all students from the classroom before leaving the building.
• Complies with and supports school policies and regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the building administrator(s) in accordance with school policies and practices.
