About The Position

The ESY Program runs from July 6 - July 31, 2026, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM. The program will be located at Oxford Middle School and services students in Grades PK - 12. The rate for this position is $50/hr.

Requirements

• Must be an RN.
• Currently licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Health.
• Current certification in CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate the health status of each student to make a nursing diagnosis and establish a health plan.
• Interpret the health status and medical findings to the student, parent, and staff responsible for the child.
• Recommend modifications in the educational program for a student due to changes in the student’s health or medical status.
• Serve as a liaison between the parents, school, and community in health matters.
• Perform health screenings.
• Observe students, as needed, to detect health problems/issues.
• Maintain cumulative health records on all students.
• Render emergency care to a student or staff member when injured or ill.
• Review and recommend revisions in school nursing policies and procedures.
