About The Position

Camp Q Paraeducator Reports To: Director of Student Services and NTA Director Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree, two years of college (60 credits) or Pass on Parapro Exam prior to employment. Experience working with children is preferred. General Description: Camp Q is a day camp for children and young adults with disabilities. We are outside most of the day participating in a variety of activities from arts and crafts to boating and swimming. The days are structured and led by camp counselors. Paras are expected to assist and/or participate in all activities and be an arms length away from their campers. We do take many breaks in the air conditioning on those super hot days. Training Required: Paras are responsible to attend 1 in-person training and one .5 day virtual training. Attendance will be taken, and participants need to be present for the entire presentation as multiple trainings are covered. Training dates will be in June and are TBD.
