About The Position

Grainger is hiring a part-time On-Site Service Representative in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. The role supports assigned customers by managing their inventory and delivering customer service, while growing accounts through the KeepStock inventory management program. The representative works with partners to implement sales strategies and help customers understand Grainger solutions for their maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) needs. The position serves multiple customer locations and involves receiving and stocking purchased products at customer sites, monitoring inventory levels, and scanning items for replenishment orders. The representative follows routes set by routing software, addresses customer issues, identifies opportunities to improve productivity and processes, and complies with each facility’s safety and inspection requirements.

Requirements

Three years of experience in a selling or service environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift 25 to 60 pounds and/or work in difficult positions.
Collaboration and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle different technical and operational issues.
Valid driver’s license in the state of residence, which must be maintained.
Must carry required levels of automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

Service multiple customer locations.
Receive and stock purchased products in designated customer locations, and scan depleted inventory to support replenishment ordering.
Resolve customer problems promptly to retain and promote customer loyalty.
Follow routes defined by routing software tools and maintain route guides.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities in productivity, processes, and cycle time.
Comply with safety and inspection requirements at customer facilities.
Engage customers to identify additional product needs and help create new orders.
Probe for customer needs during site visits and work with sales partners to expand Grainger offerings.
Work with partners to implement sales strategy and help customers understand Grainger’s MRO solutions.
