About The Position
St. Croix Hospice is seeking a Registered Nurse On-Call to provide responsive care as part of its 24/7 care model. The nurse addresses urgent patient needs, completes after-hours admissions, and guides patients and families through critical moments with compassion and confidence. The position offers professional autonomy and a 7-days-on/7-days-off overnight schedule, serving patients during evenings, nights, and weekends.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree is accepted.
- At least 1 year of recent acute care experience.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Current CPR certification.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.

- Hospice or home care experience.
Responsibilities
- Respond to triage calls and provide after-hours nursing visits for symptom management, admissions, and care plan updates.
- Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on evolving needs.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and provide education and support to patients and caregivers.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation of care, outcomes, and communication.
