On-Call RN
About The Position
Hearth Hospice is seeking a full-time On-Call Registered Nurse to provide care and support to hospice patients and their families during critical moments. The nurse identifies patient and family needs, coordinates care, provides preventative measures, and offers compassionate support. The territory includes Bradley, Polk, Meigs, McMinn, Rhea, and Bledsoe counties. The schedule is seven days on and seven days off. The role includes a hands-on clinical onboarding program and opportunities for internal growth and advancement.
Requirements
- Hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Have at least one year of RN experience in a medical-surgical or acute-care setting.
- Be computer proficient, including typing and using various programs; experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is required.
- Maintain current CPR certification if required by the state.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare preferred.
- Hospice experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Respond to a range of patient needs, from urgent to routine.
- Assess patients' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation in patients' homes and in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Share knowledge and expertise with patients' families, and guide and support them in caring for terminally ill loved ones.
