About The Position

Hospice of Chattanooga is seeking a full-time On-Call Registered Nurse to provide care and support to hospice patients and their families. The RN identifies patient and family needs, coordinates care, and offers preventative measures and compassionate support. The role serves the Cleveland territory and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position involves responding to patient needs, conducting comprehensive assessments, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting families caring for terminally ill loved ones.

Requirements

• Hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• At least one year of RN experience in a medical-surgical or acute-care setting.
• Computer proficiency in typing and various programs, including experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Maintain current CPR certification if required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health care preferred.
• Hospice experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to a variety of patient needs, from urgent to routine.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation in patients’ homes and in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
• Share knowledge and expertise with patients’ families, guiding and supporting them in caring for terminally ill loved ones.
