About The Position

Hospice of Chattanooga is seeking a full-time On-Call Registered Nurse to provide care and support to hospice patients and their families. The nurse identifies patient and family needs, coordinates care, and provides preventative measures and compassionate support. The position serves the Cleveland territory and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• At least one year of RN experience in a medical-surgical or acute-care setting.
• Computer proficiency, including typing and experience with various programs and electronic medical records (EMR).
• Current CPR certification if required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health care preferred.
• Hospice experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to a variety of patient needs, from urgent to routine.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation in patients’ homes and in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
• Educate, guide, and support families in caring for terminally ill loved ones.
