About The Position

Houston Hospice is seeking dedicated and compassionate On-Call Registered Nurses to provide care and support to patients and families during evening and overnight hours. Nurses respond to after-hours calls, make in-home visits, manage symptoms, and provide comfort-focused hospice care. The role also involves educating and supporting patients and caregivers through changes in condition and end-of-life needs, coordinating care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and maintaining accurate electronic medical record documentation. Available shifts are evening, 5:00 PM–1:00 AM, and overnight, 1:00 AM–9:00 AM. Additional orientation may be available for qualified nurses transitioning into hospice care. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current Texas RN license.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and respond confidently to changing patient needs.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to patients' homes.

Nice To Haves

Hospice, palliative care, home health, or hospital nursing experience.
Experience with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

Respond to after-hours patient and family calls, providing clinical guidance, reassurance, and support.
