On-Call Banquets Bartender/Server

About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking an On-Call Banquets Bartender/Server to provide friendly, responsive, and consistent service and create an exceptional food and beverage experience for guests. This hybrid role involves working as either a bartender or server based on banquet business levels and operational needs. Team members must be flexible and willing to perform duties in both roles to support banquet operations and deliver excellent guest service. The position includes serving food and beverages, engaging with guests, and helping events run smoothly. Associates are expected to support efficient banquet operations and embody Kalahari’s promise to Lead with Love.

Requirements

Prior experience as both a server and bartender is required.
Ability to work professionally, courteously, and in a friendly manner with clients, management, and associates.
Flexibility to work long hours, including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

One year of food service or hospitality experience in a convention center or large hotel with over 500 rooms is preferred.
At least one year of front-of-house operations experience and general food and beverage knowledge is preferred.
Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Ensure guests feel welcome and receive responsive, friendly, and courteous service.
Greet guests promptly and recommend items or drinks guests may enjoy.
Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
Maintain a neat and organized bar area, including cleaning the bar top, counters, and well area; emptying and wiping ashtrays; removing and washing cocktail glasses; and cleaning discarded napkins, coasters, straws, and garnishes.
Monitor guests’ alcohol consumption and take immediate corrective action when needed to help guests and protect the interests of Kalahari Resorts and its associates.
Serve guests according to resort standards in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
Clean banquet spaces after functions and ensure equipment and supplies are properly stored and restocked.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Work as either a bartender or server based on banquet business levels and operational needs.
