About The Position

As an Office Assistant 2 under general supervision, you will support the mission of the College of Veterinary Medicine within the Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (WADDL), by providing support services to submitting clients, laboratory personnel, veterinary students, residents and faculty. You will triage incoming phone calls, receive and refer visitors, initiate and create client invoices, and perform various business office functions including data entry into the laboratory information system database (COFL). Eligibility and understanding of BSL-2 laboratory safety guidelines and work environment is required.

Requirements

  • High School graduation or equivalent and one year of clerical experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Physical eligibility required for working in a BioSafety Lab-2 (BSL-2) environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience in a medical and/or veterinary office setting.
  • Strong computer skills and competency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience using COFL or a similar medical and/or accounting database and software.
  • Experience utilizing medical terminology of multiple body systems or in a multi-specialty department.
  • Experience with utilizing a Quality System and using and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
