About The Position
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is an internationally accredited agency focused on protecting life and property, promoting traffic safety, and providing professional public safety services. This Customer Service Assistant 2 position is located at 1970 W Broad Street, Columbus 43223, and requires the employee to be in the office 5 days a week. The role involves researching and searching for video files, utilizing specialized software to redact confidential information from audio and video recordings, and collaborating with the ODPS Legal Office regarding redaction inquiries. Additionally, the position requires categorizing, organizing, and classifying received, processed, and released files, as well as tracking, managing, and updating databases or tracking sheets.
Requirements
- 9 months of training or experience in office practices and procedures.
- 9 months of training or experience in public relations or customer service that included techniques for handling difficult people.
- 9 months of training or experience in typing, keyboarding, data entry, or word processing.
- 9 months of training or experience in the operation of a personal computer.
- Equivalent of the above minimum qualifications for employment.

Responsibilities
- Research and search for video files.
- Utilize specialized software and/or computer equipment to redact personal and/or other confidential information within audio and/or video recordings.
- Work directly with the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) Legal Office on questions related to redactions.
- Categorize, organize, and classify files that are received, processed, and released.
- Track, manage, and update database and/or tracking sheets.
