About The Position

Office Specialist 2 Department of Administrative Services Salem, Oregon (onsite) Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm We are looking for an Office Specialist 2 to join the Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS). This role helps keep daily operations running smoothly by providing administrative support across payroll, accounting, and financial services teams. Requirements

  • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR An associate degree in any field; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in data entry, document preparation, or records management
  • Skill using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other office technology tools
  • Ability to learn new systems, processes, and software quickly
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Professional customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, or guidelines
  • Clear and professional written communication, including proofreading and formatting documents
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with professionalism and discretion

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to Payroll, Accounts Payable/Receivable, and Accounting/Budget teams
  • Process employment verifications, payment requests, purchasing card tasks, and other financial support activities
  • Maintain electronic and paper records in compliance with records retention requirements
  • Scan, organize, label, and prepare documents for staff access and use
  • Update internal and external websites, organizational charts, and office resources
  • Coordinate onboarding activities, equipment requests, user access updates, and workspace needs
  • Prepare documents, enter data, schedule meetings, and support internal communications
  • Serve as backup receptionist and assist with mail, shipping, and office logistics
