About The Position

The OD Coordinator is the face of the Exam Practice and helps ensure a positive patient experience. The role assists with training and scheduling OD Techs and requires knowledge of eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. The coordinator guides patients through the initial steps of their Visionworks experience and helps meet their eye exam needs. The position also supports exam-lane operations and patient experience goals, including maintaining accurate patient records, preparing patients for preliminary testing, communicating relevant information to the optometrist and sales associates, maintaining supplies and equipment, answering phones, and preparing the optometrist's daily revenue for deposit.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
Licensed OD Techs must have or maintain a State Opticians License.

Nice To Haves

Related customer or patient experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
Introduce patients to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and provide associates with information to help them recommend appropriate products and services.
Support day-to-day exam-lane operations and patient experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones.
Count the optometrist’s daily revenue and prepare it for deposit.
Prepare technician work schedules to meet patient and doctor demand.
Assist with training OD Techs.
