About The Position

A Visionworks OD Coordinator is the face of the Exam Practice and helps ensure a positive patient experience. The role assists with training and scheduling OD Techs and requires knowledge of eye health and preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. The coordinator guides patients through the first steps of their Visionworks experience and helps meet their eye exam needs. The position maintains accurate patient records before preliminary testing, introduces patients to the optometrist and shares relevant patient information, and transitions patients from the doctor to the sales floor with information that helps associates recommend suitable products and services. The coordinator also supports daily exam-lane operations and patient experience goals, counts the optometrist’s daily revenue and prepares it for deposit, and schedules technicians to meet patient and doctor demand.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
Licensed OD Techs must have or maintain a State Opticians License.

Nice To Haves

Related customer or patient experience is preferred, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
Introduce patients to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and provide associates with information to educate patients and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs.
Support day-to-day exam-lane operations and patient experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones.
Count the optometrist’s daily revenue and prepare it for deposit.
Prepare technician work schedules to meet patient and doctor demand.
Assist with training OD Techs.
