About The Position

A Visionworks OD Coordinator serves as the face of the Exam Practice and supports a positive patient journey. The coordinator assists with training and scheduling OD Techs and is trained in eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. The role guides patients through the initial steps of their Visionworks experience and helps ensure their eye exam needs are met. The coordinator maintains accurate patient records, conducts preliminary testing, relays relevant information to the optometrist, and transitions patients from the doctor to the sales floor with information that helps associates recommend appropriate products and services. The position also supports exam-lane operations, prepares technician schedules, and counts the optometrist’s daily revenue for deposit.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
Licensed OD Techs must have or maintain a State Opticians License.

Nice To Haves

Related customer or patient experience is preferred, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
Introduce patients to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and provide associates with information to help educate patients and recommend products and services suited to their eye-care needs.
Support day-to-day exam-lane operations and patient experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones.
Count the optometrist’s daily revenue and prepare it for deposit.
Prepare technician work schedules to meet patient and doctor demand.
Assist with training and scheduling OD Techs.
