About The Position

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health, is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a full-time, day-shift position. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The 60-bed rehabilitation hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. The role involves developing specialized treatment plans to support patients in regaining well-being, including through exercise and the use of prosthetic or orthotic devices. The hospital describes its unit as fast-paced, collaborative, and offering opportunities to learn and grow. New graduates are accepted.

Requirements

• Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current and unrestricted Occupational Therapy license in the state where services are rendered.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Passion for helping others and ability to work as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Develop specialized treatment plans to help patients regain well-being, including through exercise and use of prosthetic or orthotic devices.
• Communicate patient progress or problems to the supervisor and other team members.
• Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.
• Perform job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, professional standards, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
