Occupational Therapist (OT)

About The Position
Provides occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area for patients referred to Rehabilitation Institute contracted and non-contracted facilities. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members, may provide instruction through an individual agreement with an academic institution, and participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute. This is a casual role requiring a minimum of two weekend shifts each month. Additional shifts may be available based on department need.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
- Knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
- Active license in the practicing state.
- CPR certification meeting AHA standards, including didactic and skills demonstration components, within 30 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
- Act 33 clearance with renewal.
- Act 34 clearance with renewal.
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.

Responsibilities
- Maintain documentation for occupational therapy services, including assessments, follow-ups, and discharge summaries.
- Co-sign occupational therapy assistant documentation biweekly.
- Communicate patient status to referring physicians and healthcare team members.
- Complete charge and statistical information to reflect services rendered.
- Schedule patients to meet productivity standards while ensuring quality care.
- Provide verbal and written home instructions to patients and/or family members.
- Supervise clinical education programs for students from various universities.
- Maintain professional licensure through continuing education and professional development.
- Perform and supervise occupational therapy assessments and treatments, and adjust treatment plans.
- Participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs.
