About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join an inpatient rehabilitation unit for a 13-week contract. The unit has 20 beds and is staffed by 8 full-time therapists. Therapists typically see 4–6 patients per day for therapy sessions lasting 30–120 minutes, totaling 6–6.5 hours of patient care. The position is located in Houston, Texas. The therapist may be assigned to acute care as needed and must wear navy blue scrubs.
Requirements
- State of Texas Occupational Therapy license.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to scheduling needs to meet patient needs.
Nice To Haves
- Inpatient Rehabilitation experience.
- Neuro Rehabilitation experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapy to patients with chest tubes and JP drains.
- Provide therapy to patients with wound vacs.
- Provide therapy to patients with tracheostomies and PEG tubes.
