About The Position

Ultimate Therapy is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to work with skilled nursing residents at Autumn Lake at Calvert Manor in Rising Sun, Maryland. The role helps residents rebuild abilities that support daily routines through hands-on treatment and practical adaptations that encourage participation during recovery.

The Occupational Therapist evaluates residents’ self-care skills, upper-extremity abilities, cognition, and activity tolerance; develops individualized plans of care based on clinical findings, residents’ priorities, and discharge needs; and treats functional daily activities. The role also includes recommending adaptive equipment, teaching residents and caregivers safe task techniques, reassessing outcomes, adjusting goals, supervising COTA services, documenting evaluations and progress, and coordinating recommendations with nursing and rehabilitation colleagues.

Requirements

• Active Maryland Occupational Therapist license.
• Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and treatment planning skills.
• Clear communication skills.
• Accurate and timely documentation.

Nice To Haves

• Skilled nursing or post-acute experience is a plus.
• New graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents’ self-care skills, upper-extremity abilities, cognition, and tolerance for activity.
• Develop individualized plans of care that connect clinical findings with residents’ priorities and discharge needs.
• Provide treatment for dressing, bathing, toileting, functional transfers, and other meaningful daily activities.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and teach residents and caregivers techniques for completing tasks safely.
• Reassess outcomes and adjust treatment goals.
• Supervise COTA services.
• Document evaluations and treatment progress.
• Coordinate recommendations with nursing and rehabilitation colleagues.
