About The Position
IU Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide occupational therapy services for patients with physical and psychological dysfunctions. The position is in an inpatient setting at West Hospital in Avon, Indiana, with one weekend day per month and some weekday availability preferred. The therapist provides direct patient care through sensorimotor, functional, educational, recreational, and social activities intended to help patients regain physical or mental functioning. The role also includes supervising occupational therapy assistants, support personnel, and students, and participating in activities that support patient care, education, and department operations.
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited academic program in occupational therapy, or, for foreign-trained applicants, graduation from an occupational therapy education program outside the United States with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
- Current license in the State of Indiana.
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Advanced life support certifications may be required according to unit or department specialty and patient care policies.
Nice To Haves
- Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred.
- Some weekday availability is preferred.
