About The Position
HealthPro Heritage is hiring a PRN Occupational Therapist for a retirement community in Edison, New Jersey. The role provides therapy services in a supportive environment and focuses on helping residents improve their functional abilities and daily lives. The therapist will assess clients, develop individualized treatment plans, educate clients and families, document care, and advocate for client needs. HealthPro Heritage describes itself as a therapist-led organization delivering clinical services in settings that include nursing facilities, retirement communities, hospitals, home care, and pediatric schools and clinics.
Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility for licensure.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing effective treatment plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to lift and assist patients as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to therapy.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate clients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities using observation and standardized tools.
- Create personalized treatment plans to address clients’ goals and enhance functional abilities.
- Educate clients and their families about improving daily activities, including using adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
- Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Advocate for clients’ needs and support access to community resources, services, and accommodations.
