About The Position

Ultimate Therapy is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist at Autumn Lake at Chesapeake Woods in Cambridge, Maryland. The role works with skilled nursing residents to identify barriers to daily activities and develop practical ways to improve independence, comfort, and participation throughout recovery. The Occupational Therapist evaluates residents, establishes individualized treatment goals, provides hands-on therapy, recommends adaptive equipment, reassesses progress, supervises COTA services, completes clinical documentation, and coordinates recommendations with nursing and rehabilitation professionals.

Requirements

• Active Maryland Occupational Therapist license.
• Strong evaluation skills and individualized treatment planning.
• Effective communication and accurate, timely documentation.

Nice To Haves

• Skilled nursing or post-acute experience is a plus.
• New graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate self-care skills, upper-extremity function, cognition, and activity tolerance.
• Establish individualized treatment goals based on residents' abilities, preferences, and anticipated discharge needs.
• Provide hands-on therapy for dressing, bathing, toileting, functional transfers, and other meaningful activities.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and teach residents and caregivers techniques for managing routines safely.
• Reassess functional progress and revise plans of care.
• Supervise COTA services.
• Complete clinical documentation and coordinate recommendations with nursing and fellow rehabilitation professionals.
