About The Position
Liberty POST is seeking an itinerant Early Childhood Occupational Therapist to work with children from birth to age five through Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education programs. Positions are available in Rochester, New York, with part-time and/or full-time employment. The role provides evaluation, direct therapy, and family education through child-directed play, with an emphasis on children’s natural learning environments and families’ individual strengths and needs. The therapist evaluates and monitors children’s progress, develops realistic goals, and adjusts treatment plans as needed. The position also involves documenting evaluations, treatment, and progress in an electronic medical record, preparing detailed reports, maintaining confidential records, and complying with state laws and regulations for Early Intervention and preschool special education. Liberty POST offers a collaborative team environment and mentoring for providers.
Requirements
- Current New York State license and certification in Occupational Therapy.
- Valid driver’s license.
- At least one year of experience in an early childhood setting.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, monitor, and track children’s progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Test and evaluate children’s abilities to determine realistic goals.
- Record initial evaluations, treatment, and progress in a timely manner using an Electronic Medical Record system.
- Write detailed analyses and reports.
- Organize and maintain the confidentiality of children’s records and other documentation.
- Follow state laws and regulations pertaining to Early Intervention and CPSE/CSE special education.
