About The Position
HealthPro Heritage is hiring a PRN Occupational Therapist for an assisted living community in West Orange, NY. Therapy is provided Monday through Friday, with no evening or weekend work. The role involves evaluating clients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities; developing individualized treatment plans; educating clients and families; documenting care; and advocating for clients’ needs. The hourly rate is $58–$60. Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility to obtain a license.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to lift and assist patients as needed, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks related to therapy.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate clients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities using observations and standardized tools.
- Develop personalized treatment plans to meet clients’ goals and improve functional abilities.
- Educate clients and their families on improving daily activities, including the use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
- Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Advocate for clients’ needs and support access to community resources, services, and accommodations.
