About The Position

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital St. Louis, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health, is a 90-bed rehabilitation hospital providing inpatient rehabilitation for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. The Occupational Therapist develops specialized treatment plans to help patients regain well-being and function, including through exercise and use of prosthetic or orthotic devices. The therapist works with staff and other care team members to support patient recovery in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to learn and grow.

This is a full-time day position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role includes documenting care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements; maintaining safe and clean equipment and work areas; and carrying out responsibilities in accordance with company standards, professional standards, and applicable laws.

Requirements

• Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current and unrestricted Occupational Therapy license in the state where services are rendered.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop specialized treatment plans to help patients regain well-being and function through exercise and/or use of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
• Communicate patient progress or problems to the supervisor and other team members.
• Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain equipment and the work area in a safe and clean condition.
• Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, professional standards, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
