About The Position

HealthPro Heritage is hiring a PRN, per diem Occupational Therapist for a long-term care facility in Bonham, Texas, at a Texas State Veterans Home. The role involves evaluating patients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities; creating individualized treatment plans; and helping patients improve their functional abilities and daily activities. The therapist also educates patients and families, documents care, and advocates for patients’ needs. Compensation is $55–$57 per hour, depending on experience. HealthPro Heritage describes itself as a therapist-led organization providing clinical services across settings including nursing facilities, retirement communities, hospitals, home care, schools, and clinics.

Requirements

Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility to obtain a license.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Proficiency in developing and implementing effective treatment plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
Ability to lift and assist patients as needed.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to therapy.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities using observations and standardized tools.
Create personalized treatment plans that address patients’ goals and enhance functional abilities.
Educate patients and their families on improving daily activities, including through adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Advocate for patients’ needs and support access to community resources, services, and accommodations.
