About The Position
IU Health is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to provide inpatient occupational therapy services at West Hospital in Avon, Indiana. The role involves treating physical and psychological dysfunctions and providing direct patient care through sensorimotor, functional, educational, recreational, and social activities to help patients regain physical or mental functioning. The therapist appropriately supervises occupational therapy assistants, support personnel, and students, and participates in activities that support patient care, education, and department operations. The position is PRN, with one weekend day per month; some weekday availability is preferred.
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited academic program in occupational therapy, or, for foreign-trained candidates, graduation from an occupational therapy education program outside the United States with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by the Indiana PLA.
- Current license in the State of Indiana.
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Advanced life support certifications may be required depending on unit or department specialty and patient care policies.
Nice To Haves
- Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred.
- Some weekday availability is preferred.
