About The Position

Select Physical Therapy is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist specializing in hand therapy for an outpatient orthopedic center in Brandon, Florida. The center treats upper-extremity conditions, including tendon injuries, sprains, strains, and post-operative fractures. The therapist will work alongside hand surgeons in a well-equipped center, using evidence-based practices and individualized care plans. Splinting experience is preferred. The organization welcomes Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) and experienced occupational therapists with at least one year of hand therapy experience. Mentorship toward CHT certification is available, and the role is part of a national Hand Therapy program.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Active national registration and state licensure required at the start of employment.
CPR certification.
Valid state driver's license.
At least one year of current hand therapy experience for experienced occupational therapists who are not certified hand therapists.

Nice To Haves

Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and develop plans of care for high-quality hand therapy services.
Provide treatment, re-evaluation, and discharge services, and communicate appropriately with patients and customers.
Develop treatment plans and supervise assistants and aides.
Contribute to case management and provide quality patient care.
Maintain positive interactions with facilities and clients.
Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
Stay current with Occupational Therapy research and use evidence-based practice, including research, clinician expertise, and patient perception.
