About The Position

Select Physical Therapy is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist – Hand Therapist for an outpatient orthopedic center in Brandon, Florida. The center treats upper extremity conditions including tendon injuries, sprains, strains, and postoperative fractures. The therapist will work alongside hand surgeons in a well-equipped center, using evidence-based practices and individualized care plans. Splinting experience is preferred. The organization offers mentorship toward Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification and is part of a national Hand Therapy program. The schedule is Monday through Friday. Compensation starts at $75,000 or more per year, based on experience, with a $20,000 sign-on bonus and $350 per month in student loan repayment.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Active national registration and state licensure, required at the start of employment.
CPR certification.
Valid state driver’s license.
Open to experienced Occupational Therapists with at least one year of current hand therapy experience.

Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).

Responsibilities

Evaluate, plan care for, treat, re-evaluate, and discharge patients, and communicate appropriately while providing high-quality hand therapy services to patients and customers.
Develop treatment plans, supervise assistants and aides, contribute to case management, and provide quality patient care.
Maintain positive interactions with facilities and clients, and enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
Stay current with Occupational Therapy research and use evidence-based practice informed by research, clinician expertise, and patient perception.
