About The Position

Select Physical Therapy is hiring an Occupational Therapist – Hand Therapist for an outpatient orthopedic center in Ft. Myers, Florida. The center treats upper extremity conditions, including tendon injuries, sprains, strains, and post-operative fractures. The position offers work alongside hand surgeons in a well-equipped center, using evidence-based practices and individualized care plans. Mentorship toward CHT certification is available through the company’s national Hand Therapy program.

The posting describes the role as full-time, Monday through Friday, with compensation of $50 per hour. It also refers to the position as per diem, so the employment arrangement is stated inconsistently.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Active national registration and state licensure by the start of employment.
• At least one year of current hand therapy experience, or, for new graduates, Level II fieldwork in hand therapy.
• CPR certification.
• Valid state driver’s license.

• Splinting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop plans of care for hand therapy services.
• Provide treatment, re-evaluation, discharge, and appropriate communications to patients and customers.
• Supervise assistants and aides.
• Contribute to case management and provide high-quality patient care.
• Maintain positive interactions with facilities and clients.
• Enhance and expand client relationships with facilities and their staff.
• Stay current with Occupational Therapy research and apply evidence-based practice, including research, clinician expertise, and patient perception.
