Occupational Therapist – Hand Therapy
About The Position
Select Physical Therapy is hiring an Occupational Therapist – Hand Therapist for an outpatient orthopedic center in Ft. Myers, Florida. The center treats upper-extremity conditions, including tendon injuries, sprains, strains, and postoperative fractures. The role involves providing individualized, evidence-based hand therapy in a well-equipped center alongside hand surgeons. Mentorship toward CHT certification is offered, and the position is part of a national Hand Therapy program. The posting describes the position as full time, Monday through Friday, with compensation of $50 per hour, but also calls it per diem.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Active national registration and state licensure at the start of employment.
- At least one year of current hand therapy experience, or, for a new graduate, Level II fieldwork in hand therapy.
- CPR certification.
- Valid state driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Splinting experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients; develop plans of care; provide treatment; re-evaluate and discharge patients; and communicate appropriately while delivering high-quality hand therapy services.
- Develop treatment plans, supervise assistants and aides, contribute to case management, and provide quality patient care.
- Maintain positive interactions with facilities and clients and develop client relations with facilities and their staff.
- Stay current with Occupational Therapy research and use evidence-based practice, including research, clinician expertise, and patient perception.
