About The Position

Select Physical Therapy is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist – Hand Therapist for an outpatient orthopedic center in Punta Gorda, Florida. The center treats a wide range of upper-extremity conditions, including tendon injuries, sprains, strains, and postoperative fractures. The therapist will work alongside hand surgeons in a well-equipped center, use evidence-based practices and individualized care plans, and may receive mentorship toward CHT certification as part of a national Hand Therapy program.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Active national registration and state licensure required at the start of employment.
At least one year of recent/current hand therapy experience, or Occupational Therapist with Hand Rotation Level 2.
CPR certification.
Valid state driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Splinting experience is preferred.
Mentorship toward CHT certification is offered.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and develop plans of care for hand therapy services.
Provide treatment, re-evaluate patients, and determine discharge plans.
Communicate appropriately with patients and customers while delivering high-quality hand therapy services.
Supervise assistants and aides, contribute to case management, and provide quality patient care.
Maintain positive interactions with facilities and clients, and enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
Stay current with Occupational Therapy research and use evidence-based practice, incorporating research, clinician expertise, and patient perception.
