About The Position

Liberty POST is seeking a motivated, energetic Early Childhood Occupational Therapist (itinerant) to work with children from birth to age five through Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education programs. Immediate positions are available in Rochester. The role is offered part-time and/or full-time.

The therapist evaluates children, provides ongoing monitoring and progress tracking, and adjusts treatment plans as needed. The position includes documenting evaluations, treatment, and progress in an Electronic Medical Record system; preparing detailed analyses and reports; maintaining confidential records; and complying with state laws and regulations for Early Intervention and CPSE/CSE special education.

Liberty POST provides individualized services through a collaborative team approach, including evaluation, direct therapy, and family education through child-directed play. The organization emphasizes children’s natural learning environments, families’ strengths and needs, and the diverse population it serves.

Requirements

• Current New York State license and certification in Occupational Therapy.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least one year of experience in an early childhood setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, monitor, and track children’s progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Test and evaluate children’s abilities to determine realistic goals.
• Record information about initial evaluations, treatment, and progress in a timely manner using an Electronic Medical Record system.
• Write detailed analyses and reports.
• Organize and maintain the confidentiality of children’s records and other documentation.
• Follow state laws and regulations applicable to Early Intervention and CPSE/CSE special education.
